A Uganda People's Defence Forces officer, Lieutenant Swalich Nyakana has come out to claim the paternity of TNS singer Sheebah Karungi and he is demanding for a DNA to ascertain the real proof even though Sheebah's known father died a few years ago and she refused to bury him.
The development comes almost two years ever since the death of the 'so called' father to the 'Enyanda' singer, the late Ahamada Kimali Musoke who was laid rest in 2018 at Namayigi village, Buikwe district aged 76, a send off ceremony that was only attended by Sheebah's mother given the fact that the deceased had personal disagreements with his daughter.
In the new revelation, Afande Nyakana claims he met and fell in love with Sheebah's mum in Kinoni, Lwengo district in the early 1980s thereafter leaving her pregnant as he went on with his duties in the NRA army as a war army commander.
Its from there that lieutenant Nyakana's family named Sheebah 'Karungi', a surname she got on his orders because he was still on duty and too busy to attend to such functions.
It was the Lwakena rebel war that separated Afande Nyakana from his family that comprised of Sheebah Karungi and her half sister, Aisha Karungi thereby forcing the latter to move different ways.
Afande Nyakana has revealed that he is not after financial gains from the 'Queen of the Area' but he is after having a DNA to prove to the singer that he is her biological father and also help her known her lineage and ancestral home.
