Straka Mwezi, real name Pamela Otim, was evicted from her rental unit in Seeta Kiwanga on March 28, 2025, after allegedly failing to pay rent for five years.
Straka, who rose to fame in the early 2000s as the host of The Late Night Show on WBS TV, was once a household name in Uganda’s entertainment industry. However, her career took a downturn after she quit the show, just before WBS TV went defunct.
Following her exit from mainstream media, Straka struggled to secure a job at any major outlet. In an effort to stay afloat, she turned to selling weight-loss products and hosting TikTok live shows to earn a living.
However, financial difficulties seemed to persist, culminating in her recent eviction. Reports indicate that her belongings were confiscated and taken to police, while she fled the premises with only her children.
The eviction has sparked conversations online, with many reflecting on the highs and lows of her career. Straka has yet to publicly comment on the situation.
