KCCA FC have confirmed the signing of Ashraf "Fadiga" Mugume and Charles Lwanga amid preparations for the 2020/2021 UPL season that is scheduled to start on 17th October 2020.
The two promising young talents were unveiled on KCCA FC TV show broadcasted on Sanyuka TV every Sunday at 10pm hosted by Magero Moses. As per the official facebook page of the Kasasiro Boys, this is what the two said after signing for the 13 time Uganda Premier League champions.
Charles Lwanga-"I am happy to be here. I want to score goals, make the fans happy and win trophies with KCCA FC".
Ashraf Mugume-"I joined KCCA because of the way they play. They are organised. The fans should expext goals from me".Mugume signed a four year deal that will keep him with the Mike "Ray" Mutebi coached side untill 2024.The central midfielder is a product of St Mary's Kitende and was recently at Vipers SC where he failed to impress and thus loaned to Police FC.
At the Abdullah Mubiru side (Police FC), Ashraf impressed and was recalled at the Entebbe based side ahead of the just immaturely concluded league but still ended up failing. He has since January been training with KCCA FC and after proving his worth, he permanently joined the team.
For Charles Lwanga, he was at SC Villa but due to failure by his bosses to live as per the terms agreed upon in the cintract, the player mutually had his contract terminated.
KCCA FC is also reported to be poaching for Mbarara City's Brian Aheebwa. The forward scored eight Uganda Premier League goals last season for the "Ankole Lions". The other star on the hunt for KCCA FC side is Maroons' tricky and magical forward Pius Obuya who is thought to be a perfect replacement for Allan Okello.
KCCA FC finished second behind winners Vipers SC in the 2019/2020 season which was concluded immaturely as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
