Renown comedian Mbuuse Yokana, aka Kapere Lufotose has spoken out and announced his intention to run for Member of Parliament (MP) seat for Makindye West in the upcoming 2026 general elections even though he admits he never went to school.

Speaking out in an interview with a local TV station, Kapere opened up and said that despite lacking formal educational qualifications, he is more than determined to represent the less privileged and uneducated people of his constituency.

It should be remembered that currently, that office is being run by Allan Ssewanyana.

Kapere has also said that he believes that his background and personal experiences is better suited with the large portion of the electorate and sets him as the best candidate.

“An MP reaches out to his people and helps them. I don't need education or English to know what my people want and I help them”- Kapere said.

He also went ahead and admitted that he would use Luganda in parliamentary proceedings since he is not fluent in English.
