Arrested one year ago like it was a simple joke, members of Parliament Allan Ssewanyana and talkative Mr Updates Muhammad Ssegirinya has clocked a full year moving from court to court but ending up back in their prison cells.
Hon. Ssegirinya and Hon. Ssewanya were arrested for apparently participating in the Masaka killings that happened in 2021.
The two have since had several court sessions but never managed to get out, for now, a year. Initially, the 2 legislators were granted cash bail of UGX 20M each. They paid it but have never regained their freedom.
Bobi Wine said the only judge that had attempted to be of help was mysteriously transferred.
There have been a number of attempts to get these legislators out of jail. At one point Ssegirinya wanted bail to go out for treatment but it was denied because apparently, the doctors in Uganda could handle his situation.
However, people on social media have accused Bobi Wine of doing so little in regard to this case.
