Micho Summons a 35 Man Provisional Squad for AFCON 2023 Preparations

Uganda Cranes head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic has summoned a 35 man squad that includes 20 players locally plying their trade in Uganda and 15 abroad.

The contigent was summoned to make early preparations for AFCON 23 after the nation missed out on the recently concluded AFCON 2021 in Cameroon having attended the previous two editions.

The preparations will include attending Navruz Cup, a four nations mini tournament that will take place in Uzbekistan between 25th to 29th of March in Markaziy Stadium-Namangan City.

The squad has 5 goalkeepers, 9 defenders, 13 midfielders and 8 strikers with new faces that include Vipers Yiga Najib and Jack Komakech, Derrick Kakooza who plays in Lativia for Walmier FC, Bright Star's Marvin Youngaman and other new faces.

The final squad to Uzbekistan will be released when the team is set to depart for the country before 25th March, 2022.
