In a Uganda Premier League match played on Sunday, home side Mbarara City had to come from behind to secure a point at title chasing KCCA FC in match played at Kakyeka Stadium in Mbarara.
Usama Arafat scored KCCA FC goal in the 3rd minute but it was Masaza Cup 2018 top scorer Jude Ssemugabi who gave the hosts parity in the 50th minute that finally gave the "Ankole Lions" a point at full time.
The result meant KCCA FC have only one win in the last four matches, a 1:0 win against to URA FC drawing 1:1 against Mbarara City and Onduparaka and a 1:0 loss to URA FC. KCCA FC now trails Vipers who have won their last three matches by three points with both sides level on 17 matches.
Mbarara city remain winless in the last five matches, losing 1:0 to Busoga United, KCCA FC, Gaddafi FC and two 1:1 draws against KCCA FC and Busoga United, standing only a point above relegation zone.
KCCA FC returns to action on Saturday 19th February at home against nemesis Onduparaka Fc whose first leg had to be replayed following clashes and fights at Green Light Stadium in Arua last year resulting into a replay. Mbarara City will visit Gaddafi FC at Gaddafi Arena on Sunday 20th February 2022.
