The Uganda National football team the "Cranes" has been invited to play a friendly match against Tanzania on the latter's independence day celebrations.
The match between two East Africa's football foes will be played at Tanzania's national football stadium in Dar es Salaam as part of celebrating 60 years of Tanzania's Independence.
Uganda Cranes Head coach Milutin Sredojevic 'Micho' as summoned an 18-man squad though it exempts big names like the reigning Airtel FUFA Award winner Bobosi Byaruhanga, his competitor Aziz Kayondo and Eric Kambale.
Speaking to FUFA website about the match, Micho said the match will be used as a test ahead of the coming 2022 Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) Qualifiers.
“We have started preparations for the qualification campaign of CHAN 2022 in Algeria. This gives us the opportunity to widen the pool of players." Micho noted.
