Conflicting reports about the health of Hon. Muhammad Ssegirinya, Member of Parliament for Kawempe North, have been clarified. The MP is alive but remains in critical condition, according to updates from medical professionals.

Earlier reports of his death were refuted after Uganda's Speaker of Parliament, Anita Among, shared an update on social media, stating:
"Dear Countrymen and Women,
After consulting with the doctors, we have been informed that our brother, Hon. Muhammad Ssegirinya, still has a pulse, confirming that he is alive. I ask you all to pray for him. May the Almighty Allah have mercy on him and grant him healing!"

Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, better known as Bobi Wine, the President of the National Unity Platform (NUP) party to which Ssegirinya belongs, also addressed the situation:
"CLARIFICATION: According to the doctors, Hon. Ssegirinya MUHAMMAD is brain dead, most of his organs have shut down, but he is not yet declared dead. When the mother was told that, she immediately announced his passing. Our teams are on the ground monitoring the situation, as we all PRAY FOR A MIRACLE."

Ssegirinya, who has been battling multiple health issues since his release from prison, remains in a fragile state. His ailments include lung disease, hypertension, and skin cancer, conditions that have necessitated treatment in hospitals locally and abroad.

The news of his critical condition has sparked an outpouring of concern and prayers from across the country. Leaders and supporters alike are urging Ugandans to rally together in hope for his recovery.

Known for his fiery advocacy and passionate representation of Kawempe North, Ssegirinya’s health struggles have been a source of public concern since his release from prison, where he spent over a year and a half on remand.

As the nation waits for further updates, many continue to pray for what Bobi Wine described as “a miracle” to restore the life of the man affectionately known as "Mr. Update."
