After years of standing beside Bobi Wine in both music and activism, singer Nubian Li has officially thrown his hat into the political ring. The longtime associate of the National Unity Platform (NUP) president confirmed that he will be vying for the Nakawa Mayor seat in the 2026 general elections.
For months, speculation had been swirling about his potential entry into politics, and now, the rumors have been put to rest. Nubian Li made his intentions clear while speaking at a recent burial ceremony, where he emphasized the need for young, capable leaders to step up.
"As our president provokes us to join in if we have the capability to stand, me too I’ll stand for the position of Nakawa Mayor, and I’m requesting, when the time comes, to consider me," he stated, drawing loud cheers and applause from the attendees.
