Hon. Muhammad Ssegirinya, the Kawempe North Member of Parliament, is preparing for a crucial medical journey to India after months of battling various health issues, was recently discharged from Aga Khan University Hospital in Nairobi.

Ssegirinya's personal assistant, Mr. Alex Luswa Luwemba, announced the upcoming trip, highlighting that doctors have recommended further specialized care in India. "We are currently processing the papers to go to India," Luwemba stated, emphasizing that while Ssegirinya has shown significant improvement, his road to recovery is still ongoing.

"The Aga Khan doctors discharged him to continue as an outpatient, not because he was fully recovered. They advised regular reviews every three weeks," Luwemba explained. "He is to be monitored for three months. He is now resting."

The MP has been treated for multiple complications, including issues with his lungs and liver. Additionally, Ssegirinya has been addressing skin cancer, for which he received treatment in Amsterdam last year.

Respecting Ssegirinya’s request for privacy, Luwemba noted that the MP’s return from Nairobi was kept low-key. "He has asked for privacy to allow his body to recover," Luwemba said.
