East Africa's renowned kickboxing champion, Golola Moses 'of Uganda' , has announced his intentions to retire from active sportsmanship, paving the way for a new generation of talent to emerge.

Golola, a formidable force in the kickboxing arena, emphasized that he plans to conclude his illustrious career after engaging in just three more professional bouts. The champion expressed his desire to focus on nurturing and developing emerging talents, steering his efforts towards leaving a lasting legacy through the Golola Moses Foundation based in Kawempe.

Citing the inspirational examples of boxing legends Mike Tyson and Muhammad Ali, Golola conveyed his conviction that stepping down from the spotlight would contribute to the cultivation of fresh, young talents in the sport.

"I'm going to retire just like other people. Mike Tyson and Muhammad Ali were once great men but they are no longer there. What is going to make us keep the legacy is to nurture new, fresh, and young talents. You have been used to the fact that talents come from the Ghetto, but that narrative is going to change," Golola Moses affirmed.

Highlighting the importance of education and physical fitness, Golola called on individuals who have completed their S.4 and S.6 levels to join the Golola Moses Foundation, providing them with an opportunity to continue their studies through physical education programs.

"It is high time we groom talents from the foundation, and those who have finished their S.4 and S.6 don't have the opportunity to continue to study. Come to my foundation and get physical education," Golola Moses passionately stated.

In addition, Golola Moses appealed to the government to recognize the significance of having sports trainers in schools. He underscored the Ministry of Education and Sports' recommendation for every school to incorporate sports instructors, emphasizing the positive impact such professionals can have on the overall development of young athletes.
