Singer turned politician Hon. Kyagulanyi Robert Sentamu alias HE Bobi Wine has been ranked as the most expensive Ugandan artist on the performance fare rate card.
The research has been conducted by the Uganda Promoters Association since ever since the after lockdown period stipulating the sum of money each and every artist in Uganda should be booked for with Bobi Wine turning out as the most expensive regardless of the fact that he was banned from stage performances.
Based to the document signed and released by Mukasa Andrew Alfonso alias Bajjo Events, the national coordinator in the Uganda Promoters Association, Bobi Wine is the most expensive artist in Uganda as he goes for Shs20m to have him perform anywhere at a show in Uganda.
He is followed by David Lutalo at Shs6m, Sheebah Karungi Shs5.5m, Eddy Kenzo Shs5m, Jose Chameleone Shs4m, Winnie Nwagi Shs4m, and Rema Namakula Shs4m.
Bebe Cool, Big Eye and Ronald Mayinja are the least valued artists at Shs1 – 1.5m, shs 500K-800K and shs 200K-400K respectively.
The document is in relation to the new guidelines of the National Promoters Association of Uganda regarding how much should be paid to different artistes as booking fees in order to minimize the risks taken by the promoters in the business.
It is reported that all musicians on the list who feel undervalued, have been advised to start booking and organising shows themselves.
