The StarTimes FUFA Big League has been fully concluded today Tuesday 17th August,2021 after Arua Hills FC beat Tooro United 1:0 to win the title for the season 2021/2022.
In a match played at FUFA Technical Center Njeru, the Arua based side scored the match's only goal in the 26th minute through Rashid Kawawa.
Winners Arua Hills walked home with UGX10M whereas Proline FC bagged 5MUGX with Ndejje University winning the fair play award and hence pocketing 2MUGX as the equivalent.
After the match, Arua Hills' forward Simon Ceaser Okhuti announced his retirement, 14 years since his break through in 2007 when he made news headlines at Ediofe Hills FC.
Okhuti's wonderful display at Ediofe tempted Lazlo Czaba to call him to the National team that featured in 2007 CECAFA tournament that was held in Tanzania. Among other clubs, he played for Vipers SC, includes Juba El Nasir of South Sudan and Express FC.
Arua Hills FC won the Elgon group with 26 points whereas Tooro United FC won the Rwenzori group with 27 points with both sides automatically gaining promotion to the Star Times Uganda Premier League season 2021/2022.
Earlier in the day, Jinja Side Gaddafi FC won itself the third promotional slot after outmaneuvering Proline FC with a 2:0 scoreline. Thanks to goals from Steven Munguki and Mulimi Frank and the 3rd and 80th minutes respectively.
