Kawolo General Hospital, Buikwe District (Lugazi Town) Fully Refurbished and Equipped to Serve Better

People of Buikwe and neighboring Districts, Kawolo General Hospital in Buikwe District (Lugazi Town) was newly refurbished and equipped to serve better by the Government.

Scope of works included;

° Refurbishment of the Existing Out Patient Department and expansion of Laboratory Services.

° Construction of a New Operation Theatre consisting of Obstetric and General Theatres up from the initial 1 operation room before expansion.

° Construction of a New Out Patients Department with different consultant rooms and special clinics including a Digital X-ray Machine.

° Refurbishment of Male, Female amd Pediatric wards.
 
° Construction of a New Accident and Emergency unit complete with an equipped Theatre to respond to the many accidents on this highway.

° Refurbishment and Expansion of the Maternity Ward 26 with 3 Delivery Suites

° Construction of a New Mortuary complete with Body Fridges.

°Construction of a New Double Storey Staff Houses.

° Construction of a new general Antenatal Block.

° Remodelling and Expansion of Antenatal block to Private Wing with private OPD and 10 Beds self-contained suites.

° Improvement and Upgrading of the Water Supply (includes both Solar Water and Electric Water Pumping and 144,000 litre reservoir) and overhaul of the whole Sewerage System.

° Provision for Piped Oxygen to Wards, Theatres and Delivery Suites.

° Upgrading of the Power Supply and distribution including supply of a 500kva transformer and a New Power House
Construction of Attendants kitchen and Laundry as well as Placenta and Medical Waste pits.

° Construction and supply of an Incinerator

° Construction of an Isolation Ward for highly infectious diseases

° Refurbishment and expansion of Service Block into expanded support services: Drug stores, Kitchen, Laundry, Stores and maintenance workshop

° Construction of a Perimeter Wall with a gate house.

° Construction of a New Power House including supply of 2 in number 250KVA Generators

° Supply and installation of a complete assortment of medical equipment and medical furniture including an Ambulance and a double cabin Pick Up for support services.
