Controversial influencer and former kickboxer Andrew Tate has thrown his support behind Ugandan TV presenter Simon Kaggwa Njala in the early hours of Friday, September 6, via a post on X (formerly Twitter) rallying support for him to run for a political office.

At precisely 12:44 A.M., Tate shared a photo of Njala with the caption, "I want this guy as VP." The post has since racked up over 2 million views, sparking a flood of reactions from both ardent supporters and vocal critics.

Simon Kaggwa Njala, a prominent figure at NBS TV, is known for his incisive interviews and fearless questioning. One of his most memorable moments was a viral interview where he bluntly asked LGBT rights activist Pepe Julian Onziema, "Why are you gay?"—a clip that continues to stir conversation online.

Andrew Tate, the British-American social media maven and former kickboxing champion, has carved out a reputation for himself through a mix of lavish lifestyle flaunting and polarizing opinions on gender roles. Born on December 1, 1986, in Washington, D.C., Tate initially made headlines for his impressive kickboxing career before transitioning to an online persona that thrives on controversy.

Tate's fame, however, is not without its dark clouds. In 2022, Romanian authorities raided his Bucharest residence amid a probe into serious allegations including human trafficking and rape. The investigation revolved around accusations that Tate and his brother, Tristan, had deceived women into coming to Romania and exploited them for adult content.
