According to Exclusive info, Sheikh Umar's troubles began when Richard Tebajukirwa, a prominent property owner and Umar’s longtime friend, lodged a complaint at Nansana Police Station over unlawful cohabitation with Habiba Namatovu for more than 11 years.
However, Sheikh Umar denies the child trafficking charges. He claims that his arrest is part of a personal vendetta orchestrated by Tebajukirwa.
According to Umar, Tebajukirwa possesses most of his property documents and is using the legal system to strip him of his assets.
“I have been wrongfully imprisoned for over a month without being brought before a court,” Sheikh Umar lamented. “This is all a scheme by Richard to take over my possessions.”
