Chaos broke out at the Busoga Innovation Symposium in Canada that was graced by His Majesty William Gabula Nadiope, IV-Isebantu Kyabazinga when a NUP Activist, former Bobi Wine Bodyguard came in and attacked the NRM Government only to be thrown out by Police.
All this chaos left revellers in total shock of what was going on since what was thought by invited guests to be a Busoga Cultural Promotion Symposium later turned political when key dignitaries from Uganda’s ruling National Resistance Movement party (NRM) hijacked the event to promote the NRM government and its achievements, a move that angered the audience sparking emotions and chaos.
Drama erupted shortly after Minister of Presidency Hon. Milly Babalanda had finished making her speech where she praised President Museveni and the NRM for a peaceful, democratic and prosperous country with sound systems and rule of law.
Her remarks triggered anger and raised furry and fire from a section of the audience with dissenting political views.
One Baganda Ntega, popularly known as “Kyuma Kya Yesu” a member of National Unity Platform (NUP) Canada wing also a former bodyguard to the NUP President, Robert Kyagulanyi a.k.a Bobi Wine stood in protest noting that the Minister is openly telling lies in broad daylight and praising a gov’t with the worst human rights record, a government known world over for torturing and killing its own people and a corrupt government that has stolen from it’s people for 37 years. Kyuma Kya Yesu, walked close to the minister and attempted to grab and tear the Minister’s speech, something that prompted the organizers to manhandle him.
Scuffle then followed as event organizers tried to forcefully silence and kick out Kyuma Kya Yesu who resisted all attempts of denying him the opportunity to express his views.
“I am a political refugee in Canada and just like me, many people are running away from Uganda fleeing Museveni’s ruthlessness, torture and violation of human rights” noted Mr. Ntege.
