National Unity Platform (NUP) President Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu has welcomed back his elder brother and NUP Head of Mobilization, Fred Nyanzi Ssentamu, after he was released and dropped near his home.

Nyanzi had been missing for four days, with reports indicating he had been held incommunicado. His detention followed a pattern similar to previous abductions of NUP members, where individuals were taken without clear charges and later released in undisclosed locations.

Confirming his brother’s return, Bobi Wine took to Twitter to express his relief and condemn the alleged torture Nyanzi endured while in custody.

"After 4 days of incommunicado detention and torture, our Head of Mobilization Chairman Nyanzi Fred has been driven from CMI torture chambers and dumped near his home! Thank you all for raising your voices. KEEP THE PRESSURE ON. FREE UGANDA."- Bobi Wine wrote.

The incident has sparked fresh concern among NUP supporters and human rights activists, who continue to call for an end to enforced disappearances and political persecution.
