Valentine’s Day took an unexpected turn for Counsel Hon. Fred Mukasa Mbidde when a Rwandese woman claiming to be his side-chic stormed his romantic evening with wife Phiona Nayebare, demanding that he fulfill promises he allegedly made to her during their past encounters.
The woman, identified as Beyle Mutoni, is said to have camped at a hotel where Mbidde and his wife were celebrating their love. When she spotted him in the gardens, she reportedly attempted to call him aside for a private conversation, a request Mbidde firmly declined in an apparent effort to respect his wife’s presence.
Witnesses say Mutoni, who appeared to be in distress, lost her patience and confronted Mbidde over his refusal to pick up her calls, ignoring her messages, and even blocking her on WhatsApp.

She accused him of ghosting her after making several promises, including securing her a job, paying her rent, and covering her upkeep. Additionally, she claimed Mbidde owed her a balance of $3,000 for services rendered during their alleged romantic involvement.
As tensions escalated and the situation became embarrassing, Mbidde reportedly called in hotel security to handle the matter.
Mutoni was arrested and taken to Jinja Road Police Station, where she recorded a statement. She insisted she was not after ruining Mbidde’s marriage but simply wanted him to fulfill his promises.
Following interrogation, Mutoni was released on police bond and instructed to report back on February 24, 2025. Whether Mbidde will acknowledge her demands or let the legal process unfold remains to be seen.
