It’s a sorrowful time for singer Jackie Chandiru, as the beloved West Nile artist laid her father, Mr. Felix Wesley Eyaa, to rest on Monday, October 28, 2024, in Lipo Village, Robu parish, Maracha District. Mr. Eyaa, who had been battling illness, passed away at Arua Regional Referral Hospital on October 25, leaving Jackie and her family heartbroken.
In a heartfelt speech, Jackie remembered her father’s unwavering support throughout her music journey.
She shared how his influence and encouragement played a crucial role in her rise to fame, describing his passing as a deeply personal loss. Surrounded by friends, family, and well-wishers, she honored his memory and reflected on the impact he had on her life.
During this difficult time, Jackie was comforted by an outpouring of support from her musical family, including artists like Jose Chameleone, Lilian Mbabazi, Cindy Sanyu, Vamos, and Steve Jene, who stood by her side in solidarity. Their presence highlighted the strength of Uganda’s music community and the bond shared among its artists.
The final farewell for Mr. Eyaa took place along the Arua-Koboko Highway, where family and friends gathered to pay their respects. His legacy, marked by his love and dedication to his family, lives on through those who knew him.
