The 2024 Uganda Waragi Nyege Nyege Music Festival wrapped up this past weekend at the Jinja Golf Club, leaving revelers in awe of East Africa’s largest music extravaganza which went on for four unforgettable days, showcasing a mix of genres and celebrated the spirit of music, culture, and unity.

Electric Performances and Unmatched Energy

The festival’s highlight came on Saturday when the main stage lit up with stellar performances from some of Uganda’s top talents. Kenneth Mugabi’s soulful melodies, Pia Pounds’ electrifying beats, and Elijah Kitaka’s enchanting set captivated the crowd. The night climaxed with Ssuuna Ben's powerful performance, bringing attendees to their feet in a euphoric celebration of music.

Adding to the vibrant energy was the Uganda Waragi tent, a hotspot of non-stop DJ sets and dancing. Renowned DJs like Kampire, DJ Ssese, and Hibotep kept the beats rolling, creating an atmosphere where the rhythm never stopped.

A Celebration Beyond Music

Beyond the performances, the festival embodied a celebration of community and responsible living. Uganda Breweries Limited dedicated a special tent to promoting responsible drinking, offering free bottles of water to attendees and advocating for moderation.

The festival also highlighted the diversity of African music, with acts spanning reggae, R&B, hip-hop, Afro-pop, and classic oldies. With seven stages, including the Hakuna Kulala and Reggae Stage, it was a platform for both seasoned artists and rising stars to shine.

Revelers Speak Out

“This has been the best Nyege Nyege yet!” exclaimed one reveler. "The performances, the vibe, the people—everything was perfect. I can’t wait for next year.”

From Thursday’s opening act to Sunday’s closing set, the festival offered a packed schedule of entertainment, with many attendees already counting down to the 2025 edition.
