St. Lawrence dispatch MUBS to reach University Football League Finals

St. Lawrence University have qualified for their second consecutive Pepsi University Football League Final after beating Makerere University Business School (MUBS) 3-0 today in Nakawa in the second leg of their semi-final tie.

Kayongo Michael,Bunyaga Bruno, and Aniku Fahad scored in the 16th 48th and 79th minutes respectively to ensure that St. Lawrence were 5-1 winners on aggregate having won the first leg 2-1 in Kavule a week ago.

Nnono Ssozi's coached team advanced to the final where they will face 2017 champions Uganda Martyrs University and will be hoping to clinch their first ever title.

St. Lawrence played in the last edition's final but lost to Uganda Christian University 2-1.

Uganda Martyrs reached the final for the first time since 2017 after eliminating defending champions UCU 5-4 in the post-match penalties after a 1-1 draw on aggregate in their semi-final tie.

The Final is scheduled for Saturday 12th November 2022 at Lugogo.
