It was a goals galore on Saturday as day one of the Uganda Premier League witnessed seventeen goals in five matches.

KCCA FC lately survived a rampant Wakiso giants side that had gained momentum later on.

Despite looking to have had the job done in the 84th minute When Ashraf Mugume completed his brace to give KCCA FC a 3:1 lead, Wakiso Giants replied three minutes later to make the score 3:2, rising the tension in the match.

However, KCCA FC held on and clinched the three points of their season opening match against a side that beat them 1:0 in the last encounter at Lugogo.

In another five goal thriller, Bul FC beat new league entrants Blacks power 5:0. The Jinja side scored through Karim Ndugwa and Richard Wandyaka’s brace with the fourth coming from Kirya Jerome to bag their first win of the season in their season’s opener.

Maroons playing at Luzira prisons Ground beat Busoga United 5:0, UPDF played a one all stalemate with Express FC at Bombo and a barren result between URA and Onduparaka completing the Saturday Fixtures.

The league opened on Friday with defending champions Vipers playing a scoreless draw with Bright Stars at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.
