UCU comes from behind to beat Bugema University 2:1 in first leg.
Uganda Christian University have beaten Bugema University in an entertaining first leg of their Pepsi University Football League semi-final tie at Mukono.
The latter took the lead from the spot in the 43rd minute after Semambo Jerome handled the ball in the forbidden area to tempt referee award them a penalty that was converted by Kambale Aldrine.
First time semi finalists UCU gathered some momentum and finally equalized in the 68th minute with a fantastic shot from Kizito Kaye.
UCU then doubled the lead in the 83rd minute still by Kizito Kaye who tapped in a beautiful pass courtesy of substitute Barigye Muzeifa.
UCU will go into the second leg on Wednesday 16th October at Bugema with a 2:1 lead and the latter will need a 1:0 win to progress to the finals.
A win for Uganda Christian University in the second leg will mean they have reached the finals for the first time in their University football history.
