Newly promoted side Kyetume FC was relegated to third division, the Regional league after the team failed to have its players registered by 10th August, 2022.

As one of the requirements for a club to be licensed by the FUFA club licensing committee, Kyetume had not submitted their players to the committee and was therefore relegated but granted a right to appeal.

However, Kyetume’s appeal was thrown in the dustbin and the relegation maintained. It is for this reason that the former Uganda Cranes forward Jackson “Mia Mia” came in to ask for pardoning the Mukono based side.

Jackson Mayanja says SC Villa also had some issues last season and missed more than three opening matches but was left to sort itself until it joined the league, It’s therefore upon this base that FUFA should pardon Kyetume FC, Mayanja asserted.

He further asserts that Kyetume represents Mukono district, a football diehard area and it will be so sad having their team relegated not even to FUFA Big League but Regional League, a thing Jackson calls unfair.

Jackson Mayanja helped Kyetume FC to their first season in the Uganda Premier League in 2018/19 when he guided them to promotion from Big League.
