The government has finally released the burial program for the late Gen Elly Tumwine who paased away last Thursday at Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi but he is not to be taken to parliament as expected.
In the past events, different officials that passed were always taken to parliament for final viiewing but this won't be the case this time around.
Minister of ICT Dr. Chris Baryomunsi, Gen Tumwine’s casket will not be taken to parliament as has been a practice for high-ranking government officials of his stature.
The official vigil for the late four-star general will be held today at his home in Nakasero, Kampala, and this will be followed by national prayers to be held at Kololo Ceremonial grounds on Monday, August 29.
After the prayers, the body will be flown to his ancestral home at Mukuru village, Rwemikoma Sub County in Kazo District where they will hold a requiem service.
Gen Tumwine will be laid to rest on Tuesday.
