From selling clothes down town, to building a business empire worth more than billions, Brian Ahumuza has been on a steady stride to success, regardless of the hurdles set against him in this complicated economy.
For over 10 years now, the Abryanz brand has grown from a one-stop male apparel grooming center and morphed into Kampala’s luxury shop center where notable and fashion forward men get fist class fashion treatment and now, a brand producing custom made clothes.
In November 2019, the genius fashion designer and stylist created his own cloth brand that started out with simple tees that were emblemed with a bar coded Abryanz logo in multiple colors. The sale took Kampala by storm as everyone wanted to be part of the brand and soon sold out and restocked the collection. His second release was the Crested Crane with the Uganda Airlines to celebrate its return. Although it was a limited edition, people kept on asking him what was next, so during the first lockdown he came up with the idea of “When No One is Watching” which also got positive feedback from the public.
Most Admired Ugandan Apparel Brand:
Last week Abryanz got listed by Brand Africa Awards as one of the most admired African Brands in Uganda alongside MTN Uganda, Mukwano and DSTV and awarded as Uganda’s most admired apparel brand. Although the designer was not able to pick his accolade in person, he expressed great excitement for the recognition over his social media platforms.
