Buwekula's Win Builds Up Match Against Bulemeezi as Buddu Stalls at Mawokota

As the Masaza Cup finals draws nearer, teams vying for the trophy (Buwekula and Buddu) and the ones in battle for the third position were all engaged in build up matches to get set for the last day of the tournament.

Buwekula hosted and beat Bulemeezi 3:2 in the match played in Mubende Municipality at Kasenyi Play Ground. Hosts Buwekula had to come two goals from down to win the match after Kateregga Bernardo's brace in half time had given the visitors an early 2:0 win.

However, goals from Kimera Micheal (penalty), Alijuna Bernard and Kakande Shafic made a miraculous turn of events and to drive the host's fans go in wild celebrations with a 3:2 win at full time whistle.

In Masaka City, Buddu Saza team who are vying for the second championship of the Masaza Cup Tournament were held to a 1 all draw by three time champions Mawokota. The matches were the last for the respective sides ahead of the Masaza Cup finals slated for 5th March 2022 at St. Mary's Stadium Kitende with entrance at 20,000/- (Ordinary) and 50,000/-

Bulemeezi who are two time Masaza Cup champions and will play in a classification match with Mawokota at 12 midday to determine who finishes third and fourth whereas the finals will kick off at 3 pm between Buwekula and Buddu who played a 2 all stalemate in the group stages of the same tournament.

His Grace Kabaka Ronald Muwenda II will grace the finals as Buwekula will be playing in the finals for only the second time after falling to a late goal by Bulemeezi's Yunus Ssentamu in 2012 whilst Buddu will be playing at their fifth finals. Buddu lost to Ssingo in 2015, won against Gomba in 2016, lost in 2018 to Ssingo and also lost against Gomba in the previous edition.

GTC Cargo company promised to buy each of Buwekula's goals 1MUgx whereas in a church service at Mubende Parish intended to bless Buwekula, Mubende Municipality MP Bashir Lubega Ssempa contributed 2Ugx and plegded 500,000/- for each of Buwekula's goals to be scored in the finals.

Mubende District Woman MP Nakazibwe Hope Grania contributed 1Mugx to the team though both legislators pledged more financial support.
