The rivalry between Onduparaka fc and KCCA Fc seems to be taking another twist following another incident of incompatability where Onduparaka is ready to play KCCA FC whereas the latter are defiant.
Following the matter arising from the events that occurred at Aba Bet Green Light Stadium in Arua where Onduparaka Fans beat up KCCA FC and damaged their Bus citing improper refereeing of match day 13 on 31st December 2021, The FUFA Competetions Committee ordered for a re-match to take place on 3rd February 2022 at Bombo Military Barrack Grounds.
However, KCCA Fc was opposed to the decisions by the Competitions Disciplinary Panel (CDP), refusing among others to honor the rematch and wrote their appeal to the CDP on 17th January 2022. The hearing was then conducted on 19th January 2022 though the resolutions were given out since then till now.
Therefore, as the date for the rematch draws nearer, KCCA Fc wrote to the Uganda Premier laegue on Monday 31st January 2022 denying to honor the fixture before knowing the resolutions from the meeting held on 19th January 2022. KCCA FC wrote, "We hereby guide that we are unable to honor this fixture as we await determination of our appeal presented to the FUFA Appeals body."
Onduparaka however, are adamant and are unwilling to change to KCCA's requests saying, "The Appellate body did not communicate suspension of the decision of the CDP pending the appeal and as such, Onduparaka Fc continues to honor the decision of the CDP including preparing for the said match." Onduparaka also quotes Article 31 (16) of The FUFA Competions Committee that states, "An appeals perse shall not suspend the effect of the decision passed by the first instance. The appellant body shall have jurisidiction to provisionally suspend the effect of the decision upon application by the appellate. It shall be the descretion of the appellate body to provisionally suspend the effect of the decision pending the determination of the appeal.."
Onduparaka fc further ascertained that they are already in Kampala ready for the match and went on to call upon all their fans wherever they are to go support them on 3rd February 2022 at Bombo Military Barracks Grounds, football lovers await to see what steps are to be taken by Uganda Premier League secretariate following the heated and mixed feelings amongst the two clubs.
The game between Onduparaka FC and KCCA FC is heating up even before the game. It's now in boardrooms and played by the masters in office.
