Born in February 1996 as Quiin Abenakyo, to parents known as Mr Charles Sembera and Ms Alice Kyamulesire in Mayuge District, Abenakyo graduated with a degree in business computing, from Makerere University Business School in November 2018.
During the 2018 Miss Uganda competition, Abenakyo won 21 other contestants to win the crown as the Miss Uganda 2018-2019 in the competition that were held at the Kampala Sheraton Hotel.
During these beauty pageants, the chief judge of the event was Zari Hassan, who also doubled as the patron of the Miss Uganda beauty pageant and among her prizes was a Toyota Wish compact multi-purpose vehicle.

Abenakyo and the top two runners-up, Patience Martha Ahebwa and Trya Margach were awarded scholarships to the Uganda Aviation School that include airline cabin crew training.
A few months later, Abenakyo represented Uganda at the Miss World 2018 competition that were held in Sanya-China in December 2018 through which she finished in the top 5 and was crowned second runner-up (number 3), the highest ranking any Ugandan contestant reached at Miss World hence being crowned Miss World Africa.
A few days later, Quiin Abenakyo was crowned the new Tourism Ambassador to Uganda, following the replacement of Zari Hassan, a socialite and business influencer who had voted her for the Miss Uganda crown.
