It is a sad day for the soccer lovers particularly fans of the national team, Uganda Cranes after the shocking news of Cranes captain, Denis Masinde Onyango retiring. We have landed on a leaked phone call audio of Onyango spilling dirty secrets in FUFA as to why he quit.

Retiring but while not in good faith, Blizz Uganda has filed some of the shocking reasons behind the 35 year old Mamelodi Sundowns shot stopper's retirement.

1. Through a WhatsApp voice note that leaked days ago allover the entire social media platforms, Onyango clearly stated how he was way back parallel with way the FUFA president, Moses Magogo on grounds of misappropriating the national team players' salaries.

Where is the government was releasing the players' monthly salaries, Onyango pinned Magogo of misappropriating the said moneys.

Listen to the leaked audio below:

It all started with former Cranes midfielder Sulaiman Mutyaba accusing FUFA , headed by Magogo of failure to account for the salaries of national team players that are supposed to come from government on a monthly basis and instead of listening to his plea, he was battered reportedly on the orders of the FUFA president.

2. The other issue is that the past days have been perturbing for Denis Onyango to the extent of throwing in the towel on the national team after the comments by FUFA president, Moses Magogo on the team that played in CHAN and players’ emoluments

While addressing journalists earlier last week, Magogo said some of the players didn't deserve money since they played “shitty football” during the CHAN championships in Cameroon.

“After the sort of performance that they put out in Cameroon, these players should not even be demanding for payment. When you demand for money, what have you put in the table? They went there and played shitty football and then come back and demand money,”
Magogo said.

The comments by the FUFA president totally angered the former CAF Footballer of the year who wondered how a fool like Magogo would come out such with a defence in an arrogant manner after shamelessly embezzling players money thereby threatening to quit the national team.

“Its you who will play for your father (Magogo) the upcoming World Cup qualifiers because for me, I do not have the time for foolish people like him. You embezzle funds(meant for players’ emoluments) and go ahead to make funny statements! National team players were supposed to be paid one million shillings each monthly but all in vain,” Onyango said in an audio recording that has since gone viral on social media.

3. The failure by FUFA as a soccer governing body to come out and enlighten more on the players' money which FUFA owed players but instead the President decided to come out publicly to attack players as he accused them of playing 'shitty football'.

“It was just a matter of coming out with an explanation because the truth is FUFA owes them the money. I am really tired of making money for those FUFA guys, let him start another team and we see those who do not play shitty football and make the money for him.”

Following the retirement of the Uganda Cranes Captain and vice-captain Hassan Wasswa Mawanda who announced his retirement from the national team after 13 years in the Cranes fold three days ago, will FUFA be able to harmonise the national team that seems to be already wrecked up?

Let's watch the space!
