Three time league champions Vipers have today 10th January continued their impressive run with a 1:0 win over "The Slaughters" Kyetume FC. Thanks to a goal from new signing Paul Mucureezi in the 8th minute.
The Venoms are now four points clear of second placed and defending champions KCCA FC who beat Mbarara City 1:0 in their first game of the second round on Wednesday 8th January, 2020.
Vipers Coach Edward Golola named an attacking minded side that included Tito Okello, Paul Mucureezi, Fahad Bayo, Karim Watambala and Frank "Zagga" Tumwesige who kept pressing Jackson "Mia Mia" Mayanja's side despite earning a slim win. Goalscorer Paul Mucureezi was named man of the match on his debut after an impressive display.
At Luzira Prisons Ground, Douglas Bamweyana's coached Maroons fell to Mujib Kasule's Proline. Visitors Proline FC won 2:1 thanks to a brace from experienced forward and Uganda Cranes forward Diego Hamis Kizza in the 20th and 25th minute. Home side Maroons scored through Steven Mukwala who extended his lead as the league's topscorer with 11 goals.

The loss by Kyetume FC was their 10th of the season, the most of any side in the league just after sixteen matches, winning five, drawing once and stand 12th on the table with 16 points.
At Kavumba recreation centre, home side Bright stars after bringing back coach Kiwanuka managed a slim but important 1:0 win over Peter Onen's BUL FC. Thanks to a goal from Alfred Onek in the 76th Minute. Bright Stars remain unbeaten at home against BUL FC in the league.
At the Mighty Arena in Jinja, Coach Ssimwogerere's Express FC continued their winless run against Busoga United after falling to a 2:0 loss courtesy of Ivan Wani and Boban Zirintuusa's goal (P). United's Kenneth Ssemakula was named the man of the match after an outstanding display.
