The Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) has suspended Pearl FM (107.9 FM) from broadcasting after the station was found in violation of the Minimum Broadcasting Standards.
The decision follows concerns over MPULIDDE KAMENYA, a radio program hosted by Mr. Kalule Sulaiman, which allegedly aired unverified claims of vote rigging and ballot stuffing in Kawempe North. The UCC cited the content as sensational, misleading, and potentially inciting violence. Additionally, the presenter was accused of failing to uphold journalistic ethics by making careless and inaccurate statements.
