Shalom Namagembe, the charming daughter of opposition leader and musician, Bobi Wine, has opened up to her fans through her YouTube channel who have been asking: Why didn’t she enter the Miss Uganda pageant?

At just 15, Shalom, who will turn 16 in October, has a striking presence that many thought would make her a perfect contender for the beauty title. However, she candidly shared that participating in beauty pageants simply isn’t her thing.

“I have great respect for the many beautiful and intellectual women who compete in such contests. They truly deserve the spotlight,” Shalom said, adding, “It’s not my cup of tea. I’m proud of whoever won.”

While Shalom doesn’t follow the Miss Uganda contest closely, she praised the participants for their stunning performances. “I saw some clips, and they all looked amazing. To whoever won, I am so proud of you guys,” she said.

Currently a Senior Four student, Shalom chose not to disclose her school’s name for security reasons, given her father’s high-profile political role.
