It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of renowned singer Evelyn Nakabira, known professionally as Evelyn Lagu. After a prolonged struggle with multiple chronic illnesses, Ms. Lagu passed away this morning.
Several years ago, Ms. Lagu was diagnosed with chronic kidney and heart complications, which necessitated frequent hospital visits.
In an effort to save her life, well-wishers generously donated millions of shillings to fund a kidney transplant in Turkey. However, due to her precarious health condition, doctors advised against the procedure, citing her inability to withstand it.
Subsequently, Ms. Lagu relied on dialysis to manage her condition until her untimely demise. Prior to her passing, she had been actively promoting her upcoming charity concert, the "Evelyn Love Charity Concert," scheduled to take place on October 28, 2023, at Papaz Spot in Makindye.
The UNMF president, Eddy Kenzo, announced the unfortunate news of Evelyn Lagu's demise before it was verified by her social media platforms.
