PLE UNEB Examination Papers Reportedly Leak Online a Few Days to Students Sitting

With just a few days remaing for Primary Seven pupils to sit for Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE), the examination Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) is investigating an alleged leak of exams prior to examination period.

According to various sources, a group of two people are reportedly distributing to schools what’s believed to PLE exam papers scheduled for November 8th and 9th, 2022.

UNEB spokesperson Jennifer Kalule, without divulging details of whereabouts of the said suspects and the exact examination materials in their possession confirmed to URN that there is an on-going probe against the two suspects in regard to what is said to be UNEB papers.

According to Kalule, the suspects could have been sharing the exam materials using social media platforms. “The forensic professionals are still looking into the chain. Once they have finished, more information will be disclosed.”

A total of 832,821 learners have been registered to sit for PLE, up from 83,012 who sat for the exams in 2020.

According to the PLE roadmap released by UNEB, pupils will begin exam on Tuesdays 8th Nov, with Mathematics in the morning and Social Studies in the afternoon. Then on Wednesday 9th Nov. pupils will conclude their exams with science in the morning and English in the afternoon.

As part of roadmap to PLE exams, today 2nd Nov. UNEB is also slated to brief security officers who will oversee the conduct of the examinations
