St. Lawrence University came from behind to edge two-time champions Makerere University Business School 2-1 in the first-leg of their Pepsi University Football Leaguesemi-final tie today at Kavule.
After a barren first half, Nazar Benjamin gave visitors MUBS the lead in the 57" but Bunyaga Bruno cancelled it out in the 67" before Kayongo Michael gave the hosts a deserved lead in the 73".
St. Lawrence were the most dominant side and should be hoping to carry the same performance into the second leg at Nakawa while the away goal is huge for MUBS to build on.
There is still all to play for in this tie given that MUBS will welcome St. Lawrence in the second leg in Nakawa on Tuesday, November 1st.
Action in the Pepsi University Football League continues on Thursday, October 27th with former champions Uganda Martyrs University hosting defending champions Uganda Christian University in Nkozi for the second leg of the other semi-final.
UCU edged Uganda Martyrs 1-0 when the two teams met in the first leg in Mukono last week but Uganda Martyrs will fancy their chances of making it to the final for the first time since 2017 when they won the title.
