Musician Geoffrey Lutaaya has opened up about the origins of Eagles Production, a legendary music group that brought so many big names in the music industry, including how he was chased by his former bosses in the group he started.
During a recent interview, Lutaaya revealed that Eagles Production was founded in the early 2000s as a collective effort by a group of talented artists. Their vision was to promote local music and create a platform for musicians to showcase their talents.
“Eagles Production started as a dream to bring artists together and create something unique,” Lutaaya shared. “We wanted to change how people viewed Ugandan music and make it stand out across the region.”
He started the whole conversation from the roots of a group he created with fellow friends before he joined forces with Kato Lubwama's Diamond Production group where he was later stripped off of all his titles and benefits.
With hits such as Omukwano Gunyuma, Tweyanze, and Tukwegomba Bangi, Eagles Production dominated the Ugandan music scene for years, capturing the hearts of fans with their soulful melodies and relatable lyrics.
Eagles Production not only shaped Uganda’s music industry but also played a pivotal role in launching the careers of iconic artists like Mesach Semakula, Ronald Mayinja, and Catherine Kusasira.
Although the group eventually disbanded, with some members forming new bands like Golden Production, its influence remains unmatched. Lutaaya emphasized the importance of the unity and collaboration that defined the group, which continues to inspire artists today.
