Vipers SC was on Saturday 22nd October stunned at the hands of KCCA FC at the MTN Omondi Stadium and the Kitende side made four matches in a row without scoring a goal in all competitions this season.

In the only Uganda Premier League match on the day, Vipers SC fell to a Mato Rogers header as early as the sixth minute but failed to pick up themselves and hence lost the match 1:0.

The result meant Vipers are scoreless and winless in the league following a goalless stalemate against Bright Stars in the season opener at St.Mary’s Stadium Kitende.

The two Uganda Premier League fixtures add to the two CAF Champions League preliminary fixtures where the “Venoms” drew goalless in both matches bringing the number to four matches where the Lawrence Mulindwa owned side has failed to score.

Kcca goalkeeper Ochan Benjamin is yet to concede a goal this season

This points to a big point of weakness for the Robertinho coached side who are now 13th on the table with only one point. The side should devise means of improving their proficiency on the attacking line because such a performance will not only deprive them of progress from CAF Champions League group stages but also performance in the home league.

In the fixture yesterday, it was a rejuvenation of rivalry between the two sides who are the only teams to reach CAF Champions League group stages and were the two competing clubs in the Uganda Premier League last season despite Vipers leading the table with a difference of 18 points at the end of the season.
