Goals Kaija Sunny and Kayondo Joseph mean they joined St Lawrence University in the semi finals of the 2022 Uganda University Football League.
Kayondo Joseph scored a stunning free kick in the 89" as Uganda Martyrs University edged Bugema University 2-1 in the second leg of their Pepsi University Football League quarter-final tie today Tuesday in Nkozi.
The win sees Uganda Martyrs win the tie 3-2 on aggregate and progress to the semi-finals for their second consecutive season and third time in the last four seasons.
Kaija Sunny gave the hosts the lead in the 36" but Ssebaale Swalifidin equalized in the 75" to set up a tense final fifteen minutes of the game that saw Kayondo score the winner with a free kick from the edge of the centre arc.
Uganda Martyrs join St. Lawrence University in the semi-finals after they eliminated Kampala University last week with the remaining two quarter-final to be played as follows;
