Mbarara City have been cleared of playing at their home Kakyeeka stadium after the stadium reached the minimum standard requirements as demanded by FUFA club licensing commitee.
The club licensing commitee evaluated the status of the playing surface of Kakyeeka and it concluded that the pitch was upgraded to at least the required standards of hosting 1st Division matches.
Therefore, the Kakyeeka Stadium was given provisional permission to host 1st Division matches effective from 14th October, 2019.
The committee cautioned Mbarara City, the statement reads, "this permission however is given on principle that the small patches still visible are improved to full green and that this pitch will be in playable standards as per the club licensing commitee criteria.
Mbarara City who have been playing at Luzira Prisons grounds joins other teams like Tooro United, Onduparaka and others whose home grounds were granted permission of hosting matches.
The news comes at a time when the "Ankole Lions" are 11th on the table with eight points from 2 wins, 2 draws and 4 losses.
