Vipers SC have been declared champions of Uganda Premier League after a 3:0 thumping of Express FC in a match played at St. Mary’s Stadium.

With 14 points above second placed KCCA and only four matches left to play, Vipers were announced winners as KCCA can not over take the Venoms with only 12 points up for grabs.

Yunus Ssentamu scored a brace (25’,34’) and Bright Anukani put the icing on the cake in the 60th minute to ensure the Venoms clinched a fifth Uganda Premier League title and the first under Brazilian tactician Robertinho in his debut season.

New signing from Mbarara City Hilary Mukundane assisted two goals and was named the Pilsner Man of the match thus walking home with 100,000/- as prize money.

In Fort Portal at Buhinga stadium, Sadat Anaku scored twice for KCCA FC to condemn Tooro United to relegation. With only 10 points from 27 matches and only three matches left to play, the “Entale Za Tooro” were relegated as they need 15 points yet only 9 are left to play for.

At Bombo Military Barracks ground, URA FC beat UPDF 1:0 courtesy of a Cromwell Rwothomio strike. Shafic Kagimu was named man of the match after his brilliant display.

Uganda Premier League action resumes on Saturday 30th April with two fixtures as Bul FC will host Onduparaka at Kyabazinga stadium whereas Bright Stars will play host to Gaddafi FC.
