Tooro United have boosted their hopes for surviving relagation from Uganda Premier league (UPL) with a less anticipated 1:0 win against leaders Vipers SC.
Striker Mark Nsubuga scored in the 79th minute the only match's goal to give Ibrahim Kirya's side a much needed win as regards avoiding relagation is concerned.
Despite snatching a winner for the Tooro side, Mark Nsubuga was later given matching orders in the 86th minute resulting from a second booking between only two minutes.
The loss denies Vipers a chance to extend their lead to six points at the table summit and a win by KCCA against SC Villa on Saturday will mean the Kasasiro boys can get level on points (43) with the Entebbe Road based side.
Despite the win,the third of the season with 14 losses in 20 matches, Tooro United remain glued at the table bottom with only 12 points and now need 7 points to get out of the red zone.
Elsewhere, Bright stars lectured Bul FC with a 3:0 score, thanks to goals from Ibrahim Kasinde, Joseph Janjali and Jungu Methodius whereas Busoga United and Police Fc played to a barren stalemate in the other Uganda Premier League matches played on the day.
