The FUFA disciplinary panel recently issued punishments to referee Ronald Mandanda (6 months) who officiated the match, Rashid Okocha who was charged for misconduct (5 months) and Onduparaka docked two points and 2 goals plus the club CEO banned for inciting violence amongst fans.
The panel also resolved to have the match replayed but on a neutral ground and upon all these resolutions, the two clubs have reacted on negative and positive notes.
KCCA FC were bitter in response to the judgement saying the FA of Uganda was unfair when they decided to have the match replayed.
KCCA FC say giving such clubs a replay is rewarding hooliganism and a chance to prepare themselves more for the match. They added that such incidents ruined the core of the game in the early 90s.
Part of their club statement read..
"These sanctions in not only set aside the rule book drafted and shared by the federation (FA) but are also a pat on the back of perennial offenders and a reward to hooliganism by gifting clubs a second bite at the cherry.
Just to remind the public,these similar tactics were the norm in the 1990s as the game completely got bastardized and abused by teams, officials and regulators repeatedly. Teams then connived to abandon games so they could live another day for the replays. This is not a place we want to go back to yet this sets precedent on the matter." KCCA FC fumed.
However on the positive note, Onduparaka FC accepted FUFA disciplinary committee ruling acknowledging the pain in losing their two points and goals, having their vital player Rashid Okocha and CEO suspended, but maintained the FUFA were fair in their ruling.

"Onduparaka FC welcomes the ruling of FUFA Disciplinary Panel on 31st December 2021 pertaining to events that transpired on match day 13 at the Ababet Green Light Stadium. Whereas the club has lost 2 valuable points, 2 goals, services core player Okocha Rashid and club CEO we believe the decision was was fair, inclusive and considerate of the evidence provided by match officials, the two clubs and we'll wishers in football." Onduparaka FC wrote.
