The Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy Asp Luke Owoyesigyire has confirmed the arrest of 37 people that were found defying Covid-19 directives in a bar in Luzira.
According to Owoyesigire,the suspects were arrested from Samaki Hub and Floating Island after intensive operation carried out yesterday in Luzira to enforce COVID-19 standard operating procedures (Sops).
"37 people were arrested today for flaunting COVID-19 guidlines on bars . The operation was carried out in Luzira at Samaki Hub and floating Island . They are currently detained at Jinja Road Police and will be arraigned in court tomorrow."- said in a statement.
