High court principal judge, Musa Ssekaana of the Kampala High court civil division has directed the court registry to stop entertaining what he termed as drama from city lawyer, Male Mabirizi Kiwanuka who files endless cases.

Justice Ssekaana accuses Mabirizi of filing ‘duplicated’ cases that he refiles and withdraws at leisure. “This division will not allow you to abuse the court register by filing and withdrawing cases at leisure and refiling later in order to be allocated to another judge. Your actions and practices amount to forum shopping which is strictly abhorred by this court,” reads the letter from justice Ssekaana in part.

In response to the letter, Mabirizi says he is to take on private charges on justice Ssekaana whom he accuses of unprofessionalism and being biased or prejudiced.

From suing the Kabaka of Buganda to asking for Kyagulanyi academic credentials, lawyer Mabirizi is renowned for his controversy. He is apparently in courts challenging the oil pipeline project deal which he says is unfair to the Ugandans.

His other latest case is the one where he contests the election of Jacob Oulanyah as speaker of parliament. In another pending case, he petitioned court to explain why ex ministers still operated yet cabinet had been dissolved by the time he filed his case.
