Greenhill Academy Forced to Close Down for Two Weeks After Students Testing Positive for Covid-19

Green Hill Academy School in Kampala has been forced to shut down for two weeks after several students testing positive for COVID-19 and speaking to the school they have confirmed.

Through a letter dated May 31, 2021 that was posted on their social media pages by the head of the school Wilberforce Kamengo, he confirmed that there were cases at the school at a time when new variants of COVID-19 are sweeping across the country.

“We have registered a few confirmed cases and as a result, we are sending students home for two weeks to curb the contagious nature of the variant and as well disinfect the school environment,” Kamengo said.

“Meanwhile, we will conduct online classes for senior one and senior two beginning Friday June 4, 2021. You are encouraged to remain vigilant about the new variant by observing all the established standard operating procedures,” Kamengo further stated.

He noted that the students would be expected back on Sunday June 13 for the boarding sections and day students would reports on June 14.
