Over the past two months, the Mayor has grappled with excruciating pain and debilitating paralysis in his back and left arm, stemming from the persistent swelling of the disc.
Following a comprehensive diagnosis via MRI at Nakasero Hospital, he was swiftly transported to Nairobi Hospital for further evaluation.
However, despite the pressing nature of his condition, the Mayor opted to postpone the surgery upon his return from Nairobi, citing the necessity for additional contemplation and consultation.
He candidly admitted, "The way they (Kenyan doctors) explained it to me, it was so scary so I thought I should first go back home and reflect on it."
Seeking solace in self-reflection and seeking counsel from seasoned experts, including Dr. Kizza Besigye, the Mayor embarked on a journey of introspection and deliberation.
Now, armed with resolve and fortified by counsel, the Mayor prepares for the impending operation in India. The surgical procedure entails the meticulous extraction of the swollen disc to alleviate pressure on the spinal cord and nerve roots.
In its place, a bone graft will be meticulously inserted, reinforced by a sturdy metal plate to restore stability and function to the affected area.
This pivotal step underscores the Mayor's unwavering commitment to prioritize his health and well-being, ensuring that he can continue to serve his constituents with vigor and dedication.
As he embarks on this journey to India, the city stands in solidarity, wishing him a swift and successful recovery.
