Mubende-Kassanda DFA Replaces Fourth Division with Super Cup

The District Football Association of Mubende-Kassanda conducted the second meeting since their election into power and major of the resolutions was the setting up of a super cup tournament to replace the fourth Division which FUFA put on a hold as the COVID-19 pandemic eases.

This second meeting followed the first that was held in Kassanda on 5th May,2021, and was held at Mubende Army SS on 22nd May,2021.

In attendance was the DFA chairman, Mr Mayanja Dan Mubiru, Maj. Kansiime Julius-the second Vice Chairman in charge of technical and also Mubende Army SS FC patron,the DFA CEO Wakonta Joseph Mayanja of Super Eagles FC, the DFA referees' delegates and others.

In his speech, the chairman thanked the voters for entrusting them and let them go through un opposed. He also pointed to the provocations that included, COVID-19, stopping of the league, lack of sponsors, failure to separate Kassanda from Mubende, failure by Club CEOs to attend their courses and so forth.

The sitting resolved that the "Super Cup" will stand in as a replacement for the fourth division league to help keep the players fit. This will also be the case for the fifth Division which will be replaced by what was called "The Community Shield." All those competitions will be played between 22nd May and 24th July,2021.

The meeting also passed that all tournaments played in the district MUST subscribe to the DFA and pay as per its coverage ie Consitituency- (400,000/-),Sub-county- (100,000/-), Town council -(200,000/-) and at parish level -50,000/-. This intends to uplift the standard of football from from grassroot levels.

Referees and Players won't also be allowed to participate in tournaments not recognized by the DFAs else face consequences.

It was also resolved that the DFA executive committee finds means of getting a trophy to give to Mubende Army SS FC, the winners of the Mubende fourth division league in 2020.

The chairman urged all footballers and club executive committee members to get vaccinated from COVID-19 and to always ensure Standard Operation Procedures are put into consideration.

More Football academies should be created to enable develop football.
